Verrucae / foot warts

Verrucae are skin lesions caused by infection of the human papilloma virus (HPV), commonly known as warts.

Recommended services include:

  • Caustics: use of topical acids and compounds
  • Debriding: Removing the overlying hardskin caused by the virus
  • Cryotherapy: Nitrogen gas used to freeze the verruca

Needling is a minor procedure carried out under local anaesthetic.

Procedure summary:

  • Step 1. Local anaesthetic is injected
  • Step 2. A sterile needle is used to puncture the verruca lesion and dermo-epidermal junction multiple times
  • Step 3. Sterile dressing is applied
  • Step 4. Further advice will be given by your podiatrist after your appointment
